At the invitation of the Walker Art Center and the Northrop Dance Season, the Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan, led by Artistic Director Lin Hwai-Min (right picture in second row), performed at the Northrop Auditorium of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities on Saturday, November 15, 2003. In an ad (November 14, Star Tribune, p. E21) announcing the performance, the Walker Art Center and the Northrop Dance Season called the Cloud Gate "Taiwan's national treasure." Ray Tsai (left picture in second row), president of the Taiwanese Association of America-Minnesota Chapter and some 25 members, hosted a welcome dinner for Lin and dancers of the Cloud Gate at the Peking Garden restaurant on November 13, 2003.
