Mei-Hsiu Hwang (center in the middle picture below), a
Ph.D. candidate in the conservation biology program at the University
of Minnesota, talked about her field research on black bears in Taiwan
on February 9, 2003. Co-sponsored by TAAMN and TSA, the seminar was well
attended. At the end of her talk, John Ko (right in the left picture below),
president of TAAMN, presented Mei-Hsiu a Teddy bear in appreciation of
her effort to raise the awareness of the life and death of the Formosan
black bears.
